Congratulations to Dr. Michael Payton, who passed his dissertation defense on A Computational Framework for Perseverative Thought.

Michael’s dissertation grew out of the lab’s Templeton-funded work on rumination, which starts from the question of what problem repetitive negative thinking might be solving rather than assuming it is simply a malfunction.

We are looking forward to writing the work up as a journal publication over the next few months.
